Kathy Kacher
Kathy began her career as a tax accountant and EA.with the Sacramento firm of William Toms accountancy Corp, CPA in 1982. She sharpened her skills as a high net worth client, business taxation and estate specialist.
After earning her Enrolled Agents (EA) designation in 1982 from The United States Treasury, she continued her education and business pursuits. Moving to Alaska permanently, Aurora Taxes was opened in 1997. Obtaining the QuickBooks Professional Advisor designation and notary public since 1998.
Kathy is active in a number of professional organizations including the Alaska Society of Independent accountants (ASIA), National Association of Accountants (NSA), Accounts Tax Society along with Memberships in the Anchor Point and Homer Chambers of commerce. She is the President and utility manager for the Anchor Point Safe Water utility.
Kathy enjoys fishing, hunting and exploring the beautiful State of Alaska in her spare time.
Greg McCullough
Greg McCullough, tax preparer, has been with the firm since 2005. He is dedicated to helping clients make intelligent financial decisions and ethically minimize tax liability. His patience and determination ensure that every client is treated with high regard. He is also a notary.
Mr. McCullough retired from the city of Homer, where he was the longest serving city employee. He wanted to return to work, but also wanted the summers off to enjoy the great state of Alaska. He had met Kathy before he retired. She encouraged him to get training in taxation. He could work January through April . This worked out perfect for Greg, as he can enjoy his Alaska summers. The growth of the firm has kept him busy through out the year.
In his spare time, Greg enjoys building large scale model planes and spending time with his family.
Greg and Kathy joined forces in 2005. They believe that their combined knowledge and experience will achieve remarkable results for all of their clients.

The name says it all. She is the friendly voice on the other end of the phone. But that is not all she doe. She is the payroll and bookkeeping leader of the office. You have to get past her to get to Kathy or Greg.

Karen runs the office in the late afternoons during tax season. She is also a bookkeeper and clerk. She is the Water utility bookkeeper and billing clerk for three local water utilities.
